plus art co., ltd. (head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; representative: Taku Nitta), a company built around the theme of enjoying contemporary art, presents "Drama," a solo exhibition by Ran., a charismatic artist with overwhelming support among everyone from teens and twenty-somethings to adults. The show opens February 12, 2024 at +ART GALLERY, Tokyu Plaza Shibuya 3F.

After three years with a gallery on the 14th floor of Shibuya Scramble Square in the heart of Shibuya, +ART GALLERY now begins a new chapter on the 3rd floor of Tokyu Plaza Shibuya, inside Shibuya's new commercial complex, Shibuya Fukuras. +ART GALLERY will continue to present curated exhibitions aimed at growing the community of people who enjoy collecting art and at supporting artists' careers.
Solo Exhibition ARTIST:Ran.
Ran. is a Fukuoka-based artist with overwhelming popularity among girls in their teens and twenties.
Her work is distinguished by delicate, almost hand-drawn lines combined with vivid digital color in her figurative pieces. Capturing the emotions of young people's contemporary view of love, she has been hailed as the "goddess of emo," and the captions she adds to her work strike a deep chord, sparking empathy and buzz among Gen Z.
Come experience her singular, real, and stylish world.
A Word from the Artist
"For this solo show, themed 'Drama,' I created many new pieces capturing the dramatic scenes that live in a single moment of a lifetime!! I can't wait to hear everyone's thoughts and to meet you all. I'll be there on the 17th and 18th, so be sure to come see it!!"
About the Exhibition
This is Ran.'s first solo exhibition in Tokyo, presented at +ART GALLERY.
The artist plans to be present at the gallery on February 17 and 18.
For this show, 20 specially created new works will be sold as giclée fine-art prints in a limited edition of 30.
There are several reasons she enjoys such overwhelming support from women.
One is her power to capture what she depicts, together with the storytelling woven into each work.
The women she paints embody figures and situations that are contradictory yet coexist—"living strong and cool" and "meekly giving in"—scenes and personas that any woman somewhere can relate to.
Wide-Ranging Collaborations and Auction Appearances
Beyond collaborations with various brands and publications, she has worked on collaborations with sake makers and created original works that have sold at auction—an artist drawing real attention right now.
Limited-edition goods and more will also be sold at the venue.
Details will be announced in due course via social media.
Works for Sale (Selection)
Works go on sale from 11:00 on February 12 at the +ART Online Shop or in person (+ART GALLERY), on a first-come, first-served basis.
