2. Works
An inorganic, industrially produced glass bottle—often likened to the form of the human body—deforms by chance within the kiln, a weightless space into which no third party can intervene, obeying the laws of nature. Through this it is reborn as a figure that feels organic and alive, as if a soul had entered it.
By transforming it into something so utterly different that it can no longer serve its original purpose, the artist gives expression to a new way of seeing.

3. Why We Recommend This Artist
Masaya Daito’s glass works are built up through layer upon layer of deformation, letting you enjoy the light, graceful rhythm of their beautiful lines.
These are beautiful glass works that settle naturally into any space. And like a soft light, they let you feel the energy within the work.
