3夏威夷四弦琴

This is a piece I created when I held a solo exhibition for Okinawan musicians. I wanted to create a piece related to music, so I created this as an expansion of a ukulele piece I had done in the past. I aimed for a gold piece with little color. I deliberately reversed the "casualness" and "naturalness" of the ukulele by expressing it as "iron-like, ruggedness."

The picture frame I wanted couldn't be found in Okinawa, so I painted it to look like iron. This piece was born from the Okinawan saying, "If it doesn't exist, make it!"
