興梠 優護
Born in Kumamoto Prefecture in 1982. Completed his master's degree at the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts in 2009. Centering on the motif of the human body, he explores the expansion of painting by focusing on ambiguous, ever-shifting qualities such as light, color, and vision. In recent years he has undertaken medium- to long-term residencies in Japan and abroad, pursuing research, production, and exhibition from the perspectives of the primordial and the contemporary. His residencies have included the UK, Spain, and Bulgaria.
