作品制作では、食材をよく観察し、洞察し、実際に扱い、より深く知った上で描くことで、食べる以外の手段として食材への尊敬・感謝を表しています。食材を入手した段階で最も新鮮な状態で写真に撮り残し、料理し、実際にいただいた後に、描いています。また、食材の一部を画材に織り交ぜることで、命を捧げてくれた食材に対する「鎮魂」の意味も含めました。そして、エポキシレジン(二液性合成樹脂)で絵画の表面を覆うことで、黒い背景に鑑賞者の姿が映りこみ、食材の姿と重なって観えるようにすることで、消化吸収して自分の肉体となっていくことを表現しました。食材は、食べるとその姿がなくなってしまいますが、私たちの体の一部となって、確かに存在し続けていることを作品を通して伝えます。
