When I obtain the ingredients, I photograph them when they are at their freshest, then I cook them and eat them, and then I paint them. I cover the surface of the painting with epoxy resin (a two-part synthetic resin) to give it a glossy finish, creating a "sizzle" effect. In addition, by having the viewer's figure reflected against the black background and overlapping with the food, I express how the food is digested and absorbed, becoming part of our body. When we eat food, its appearance disappears, but the work conveys that it certainly continues to exist as a part of our body.
