仙台の海辺のまち、蒲生。干潟を見渡す日和山は津波によって半分の高さになりました。毎年夏、人びとは日和山の登山に集まります。今ではそれぞれ別のまちに住まう人びとの、再会の場です。アクリル絵の具を塗り重ねて層をつくり、彫刻刀や研磨によって色の層を掘り起こしてモチーフを描いています。
Additional Information
Gamo is a seaside town in Sendai. Mount Hiyori, which overlooks the tidal flats, was reduced to half its original height by the tsunami. Every summer, people gather to climb Mount Hiyori. It is now a place of reunion for people who live in different towns.
I create layers of acrylic paint, then use a carving knife or sanding to excavate these layers of color to create my motifs.
