Schwembendes wasser 3

I mainly use oil paintings to depict virtual images reflected on glass or water. This painting is based on my experience visiting the island of Usedom in Germany as part of a series. The title "schwebendes Wasser" is a German word that describes the state of floating water. The world seen through water becomes distorted, fluctuates into something formless, and changes fluidly. Although the virtual image reflects the same real image, it reflects various distorted shapes depending on the viewer's viewpoint, the position of the object, and the lighting conditions. By painting distorted virtual images, I visualize the differences in each viewer's viewpoint and values. Whether this painting is a world inside the water or a world outside the water is left to the viewer's viewpoint.

By layering thin layers of paint, transparency and depth are created and the colors are deepened. To create contrast with the thin paint, thicker paint is layered on top of it in parts, creating a rhythm within the painting. These three pieces have no fixed top, bottom, left or right, and can be viewed from various perspectives. For example, just as experiences and experiences can become completely different memories and emotions when you change the perspective, these paintings can also be freely rearranged.
