I paint the time before, after, or between death. The future that awaits us all seems like a bottomless pit, somehow unclear. I am fascinated by this uncertainty and suddenness of events, and I paint them as mental landscapes.

I use a lot of stand oils and mediums, which give my work a transparent thickness and unexpected movement, allowing me to express uncertainty, floating or sinking.
