आकृति अयानसु 23-01

[Attaining Shape Series] This is one of the series that has been developed since 2018. It is a coined word that means the process in which an expression or shape is acquired, or the process in which an idea or image is materialized, or the state after such a change. The subtitle "ayanasu" comes from the Japanese word "ayanasu" which means to show various beautiful colors and form patterns.

In order to blend and fluidly blend the paint on the screen, and to obtain the paint's inherent materiality and color development, these works are primarily painted using fingers and palms. Only in the final touches do I use a silicone squeegee to flatten the screen, eliminating the materiality that was once obtained and obscuring the relationship between the colors. This also has the effect of intentionally distancing the sense of distance and meaning from the work, giving the work more abstractness. Some of the work series mainly use brushes, but by using my fingers, I can connect the screen and my body more directly, so in the process of materializing the image, I believe that thinking and the momentary coexist, expanding the chain of possibilities.
