Work description "Turning away from perfection" This work is the brightest of the LOT series I have painted so far. When I painted this work, I wanted to create a bright and cheerful picture. At the root of my work are seemingly negative situations and conditions such as inferiority complexes and despair. However, the aesthetic sense of imperfect beauty, which has existed in Japan since ancient times, teaches us that the negative is important. When I decided on the concept of pursuing imperfect beauty, I felt very cheerful. It's not that my inferiority complex and despair have been eliminated, but I was able to find meaning in these negatives. Perhaps it is because of the evolution of technology, but society seems to be in a trend of seeking perfection and thinking that perfection is the right answer. But how much does perfection enrich us? I believe that the aesthetic sense of imperfect beauty is a necessary aesthetic sense for the future society that turns its back on perfection.
