This picture is based on the theme of loneliness, sadness, and tragedy of "someone who has gained great power (or someone who has gained it)." I painted an image in an oil painting that I drew in the form of a book called "The Book of Drops: Empty Bucket Blues" that I created in 2020. What exactly did this person cry with a bucket in his hands and tears in his eyes? We would appreciate it if you could project the "story" of each viewer. I originally painted water-soluble paint on washi paper, and then I drew it with oil paint on wooden panels. The paint is made from Holbein's high-quality oil paint "Verne," which gives it a glossy transparency that is typical of oil paintings. The overlapping of layers, which have the texture unique to oil paint, seems to have made the story of the sad king even more deeply.

This painting is based on the theme of the loneliness, sadness, and tragedy of those who hold (or have held) great power. The image is an oil painting of a book-shaped painting I created in 2020 called The Book of Drops: Empty Bucket Blues. What on earth is this person crying and holding a bucket in both hands thinking, and what has he done? I hope that each viewer will project their own "story" into the work.
The image, originally painted with water-soluble paints on washi paper, was then repainted on a wooden panel with oil paints.
