私はガラスや水に映り込んだ虚像を主に油絵で描いています。この絵はシリ－ズでドイツのウゼド－ム島へ行った時の経験をもとに描かれています。タイトルの "schwebendes Wasser" はドイツ語で水が浮遊している状態を表す言葉です。 水を通して見た世界というのは歪み、形の定まらないものへと揺らいでいき、流動的に変化していきます。虚像は同じ実像を映しているのに、見る人の視点や物体の位置、光の状況によって様々な歪んだ形を映し出します。歪んだ虚像を描くことによって、それぞれの視点や価値観の差異を視覚化しています。この絵が水の中の世界なのか、水の外の世界なのか、それぞれの見え方は鑑賞者の視点に委ねられています。
薄い絵の具の層を何層も重ねることによって、透明性や奥行きを出し、色調を深めています。その絵の具の薄さと対比が出るようにその上から厚い絵の具を部分的に重ね絵の中でリズムを作っています。 この3点は天地左右が決まっておらず、さまざまな視点で見ることができます。例えば経験や体験は視点を変えると全く別の記憶や感情となるように、この絵も自由に並び替えをすることが可能です。
