[Artist introduction] IKU→
“SYNESTHESIA” artist Introducing IKU→
IKU→
While mainly focusing on fashion, he moved to the United States to immerse himself in creating art in search of a more free form of expression. Signed a contract with a gallery in New York and began working as an artist, holding multiple exhibitions. After returning to Japan, he worked as a khayah. Active as IKU→ in 2020. I wanted to meet myself. However, I can't meet you just by being myself. I am aware of who I am, but what am I and why am I here? You become aware of yourself through the flow of moments with the living things that connect you. Inspired by daily feelings and real experiences, he considers the existence of faces from the perspective of life and death, and relationships with others and himself, and while questioning them, he expresses various faces that are imaginary.
[Career]

[Exhibition view]
This is a piece that sparkles and shines. Please take a look!
The round-shaped pieces have a beauty similar to marbles.

[Staff comment]
The sparkling texture and bright colors give the object a beauty that feels like light is shining on it from various angles✨I wonder what kind of facial expressions the people depicted in the works have and what kind of thoughts they have. It is a work that you can enjoy while imagining it (Kawahara).
[Exhibition information]
“SYNESTHESIA”
This exhibition brings together 10 diverse and up-and-coming artists with the aim of allowing viewers to update their sensibilities and foster new values through art. "SYNESTHESIA" in the exhibition title refers to the sense of sensing colors in letters and sounds, and sensing shapes in tastes and smells. We hope that the diverse expressions woven by these 10 artists will give you an opportunity to discover something within you.
