Introducing artist and actor Dai Goto.
Dai Goto (Artist / Actor)
Born April 5, 1995, in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. He creates a wide array of his own original characters within a world he calls “VIVI GALAXY,” and works broadly across apparel design, logo creation and more. Self-taught in painting and design from an early age, he works mainly in acrylics and airbrush on canvas. As the actor Dai Goto, he has appeared in productions such as “Kamen Rider Geats,” “Kamen Rider Zi-O,” the musical “The Prince of Tennis,” the stage play “Hypnosis Mic,” and the musical “Black Butler.” He has also appeared on NHK’s “Bit World,” where his own illustrations were featured.

Vivi Meditation
Created on the theme of “meditation,” this work portrays the state of release from worldly desires through the artist’s original character “Vivi.” The unified blue palette expresses the stillness and serenity of a meditative state, and a beautiful solitude.

Ice Cold
An original ice creature: a unicorn character named Cold. Born without a horn, this creature longed to be a unicorn, so it thrust a mineral ice cream upside down into its head to form a horn. One starry night, it made a wish upon a shooting star, and its horn was granted the power to purify tainted water.

Lucky Sheep
On the theme of “colors of family wellbeing,” this work depicts Vivi, the creature born in VIVIGALAXY, in the form of a sheep. The airbrushed gradations and the textures created with medium and cotton convey a sense of warmth. The sheep is found within auspicious characters such as those for good fortune and virtue, and is regarded as a symbol of luck and peace.
