Odres Pandol
<Varnish>
An odorless paint varnish made by mixing synthetic resin, odorless petrol and refined poppy oil. It gives transparency, viscosity and gloss, improves paint adhesion and dries quickly. It is usually used as a homemade oil varnish, but can also be used alone in an oil flask.
<Main Uses>
Adding gloss and transparency, improving adhesion, accelerating drying, glazing techniques
Odres Petrol
<Volatile oil>
An odorless, volatile solvent that removes the petroleum-like smell from petrol.
It takes the same amount of time to dry completely as petrol, but the drying process is slower. It has a weaker dissolving power than petrol.
<Main Uses>
Diluting oil paints and painting solutions, removing screen protective varnish
Odres Lesolvan
<Mixed oil>
A lightly scented Lesolvan made by mixing refined poppy oil, citrus, synthetic resin, and odorless petrol in an ideal ratio. It has no petroleum smell. It can be used from sketching to finishing.
<Main Uses>
Thinner for oil paints
Spike Lavender
<Volatile oil>
A volatile oil obtained by distillation from the flowers and stems of certain lavender plants that grow along the Mediterranean coast.
It evaporates slower than turpentine, but has strong dissolving power. Its surfactant-like effect prevents topcoat varnishes from repelling and improves paint adhesion. It also has a preservative effect.
<Main Uses>
Diluting oil paints and painting fluids, preservatives for tempera medium, cleaning finished paintings
Spray Le Touse
<Screen correction varnish>
A varnish made by dissolving dammar resin in petrol. It contains less resin than tableau to speed up drying and improve breathability. Apply thin coats several times over the entire matte surface. It also improves the adhesion of the paint applied on top.
<Main Uses>
Adds gloss and improves adhesion
Turpentine
<Volatile oil>
It is made by distilling and refining pine resin (rosin) and has excellent dissolving power.
If it is exposed to air for a long period of time, it will turn into a resin through oxidative polymerization, turn yellow, and become more viscous. Because this changes its physical properties, it is important to keep the bottle cap tightly closed and separate partially used liquid into a smaller bottle.
<Main Uses>
Solvent for diluting oil paints and painting solutions, and for making your own varnish
Dammar Varnish
<Varnish>
A varnish made by dissolving dammar resin in turpentine. It is used to protect oil and tempera paintings, and as a varnish for making your own mixed oils and tempera mediums.
<Main Uses>
Protects the screen and provides adhesion and gloss as a varnish when making your own medium
Tempera Varnish
<Screen protection varnish>
A quick-drying varnish made by dissolving synthetic resin in alcohol. The coating is thin and hard, giving the surface a high gloss. It also contains anti-fungal agents, which help prevent the growth of mold.
<Main Uses>
Protecting tempera screens
Venetian Turpentine
<Varnish>
A pine resin component extracted from the core of European larch, which is mainly produced in the Tyrol region.
Its outstanding refractive index creates a gloss and transparency reminiscent of cloisonné. It is primarily used in combination with drying oil and volatile oil to make your own mixed varnish.
One thing to note is that it dries slowly and has a tendency to yellow slightly, so it should be used sparingly on white and light-colored surfaces.
<Main Uses>
Adding gloss and transparency
Rutusse
<Screen correction varnish>
A varnish made by dissolving dammar resin in petrol. It contains less resin than tableau to speed up drying and improve breathability. Apply thin coats several times over the entire matte surface. It also improves the adhesion of the paint applied on top.
<Main Uses>
Adds gloss and improves adhesion
