HOLBEIN ART FAIR 2022 2nd featured artist Rika Morishima

Rika Morishima
My practice involves making collages from magazine cut-outs and online images, photographing them, and then painting from those photographs. I work by moving back and forth between spontaneous collage and painting that layers the bold with the delicate.

Works with a unified sense of harmony
Arranged in a single row, they feel as though they all connect into one continuous work.✨

[Staff comment]
The hazy, softly blurred touch is refined yet wonderfully unpretentious.✨ Many of the works relate to the moon, and you can sense how she is mindful of the connections within each composition! In the pieces where wood and stones are linked by soft thread, you can feel a gentleness that belongs only to nature! (Mogi)
