Nana Matsumoto

Introducing Nana Matsumoto, an artist featured in HOLBEIN ART FAIR 2022 — 2nd

Nana Matsumoto

I work mainly with two-dimensional surfaces, paint, objects, narratives, images and space. I reconstruct the causal — or irrational — relationships between images and things, alongside the questions inherent to painting itself.

[Installation Views]

Delicate works lined up against a white wall

Watching the feathers and trees sway in the breeze is so calming ☺️

[Staff Comment]

The hazy, softly blurred expression is both refined and wonderfully unaffected ✨ Many of the works relate to the moon, and you can really sense how she weaves connections across the picture plane! The pieces in which wood and stone are joined by soft threads carry a gentleness unique to nature! (Mogi)
