みかんは私の記憶に残る場面で何度も出てきて印象に残っている。曽祖母がみかんが大好物だった。亡くなった時、天国でもみかんが食べれるように棺の中にみかんをたくさん入れた。火葬後、色鮮やかだった物は、全て無彩色の灰と骨になり、顔の周りに置いた、みかんの灰だけが綺麗なボルドー色をしており、死してもなお、オレンジ色は私たちに色を与えてくれるのだなと思った。みかんの皮を革に仕立てるflavedo. という作品を2021年に完成させた。何百というオレンジの皮を乾燥させた時、みかんの皮を展開した形状がとても魅力的な表情をしていることに気づいた。みかんを平らく展開したものを、100個トレースをし、２種類のトレースを噛み合わせ構成した。10000個の構成から魅力的なものを選抜して制作した。
