指紋を印刷した印画紙にアセトンを散布する。アセトンによってインクの溶解・剥落がフラクタル現象のように立ち現れ、物理的痕跡が印画紙の表層に残る。さらにその表層をマクロレンズで撮影し、大判印刷を行なった。すると、そこには肉眼では見えなかった表層が現れた。 物質的痕跡は、被写体となっている指先の指紋や侵食によってできた大地のイメージと重なり、一つの画像が様々なイメージを呼び込む原器となっている。それは写真の表面を介した「可視化される地表」と「身体の表層」が視覚的に混じり合う体験でもある。
Additional Information
Acetone is sprayed onto photographic paper with fingerprints printed on it. The acetone causes the ink to dissolve and peel off like a fractal phenomenon, leaving physical traces on the surface of the photographic paper. This surface was then photographed with a macro lens and printed in large format. A surface layer that was invisible to the naked eye was then revealed. The physical traces overlap with the fingerprints of the subject's fingertips and the image of the earth created by erosion, making this one image a prototype that calls forth a variety of images. It is also an experience in which the "visible earth surface" and the "surface of the body" visually blend together via the surface of the photograph.
