Artist: Yugo Kohrogi
Profile:
Born in Kumamoto Prefecture in 1982. Completed his graduate studies at the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts, in 2009. Taking the human figure as his central motif, he focuses on ambiguous, ever-shifting qualities such as light, color and perception, exploring the expanding possibilities of painting. In recent years he has undertaken extended residencies both in Japan and abroad, pursuing research, production and exhibitions from the dual perspectives of origin and contemporaneity. His principal residencies include the United Kingdom, Spain and Bulgaria.
