Announcement of the three-person exhibition “Vulnerability”

Plus Art Co., Ltd. (location: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, representative: Takashi Nitta), which supports contemporary art creators, will be holding the “+ART GALLERY” on the 14th floor of Shibuya Scramble Square on Monday, November 14, 2022. We are pleased to announce that we will be holding a three-person exhibition "Vulnerability" by Alisa of Wonderland, ITOSHI SAKHRANI, and REI INABA.

Overview of this exhibition

The concept of this exhibition, ``Vulnerability'', means ``vulnerability'' and contains the message of ``showing your honest self.''

Showing parts of yourself that you don't want to show to others or exposing your weaknesses can sometimes lead to hurt feelings, but it can also bring positive results. Although the word has negative connotations, it is a strength to express actions and feelings that are difficult to show to others, and self-disclosure that shows your honest self can be an opportunity to make your life better.

We will be holding a three-person exhibition "Vulnerability" with three artists who sympathize with these words and express themselves despite their worries.

We will also exhibit and sell artwork by Arisa of Wonderland, ITOSHI SAKHRANI, and REI INABA.

In addition, we are planning a reception party and talk session for some people on November 19th (Saturday) and November 26th (Saturday) during the exhibition period, and the artist will also be in the gallery. (Details will be provided to +ART GALLERY online shop members and those connected to the artist.)

We will provide introductions and interview videos of the artists who will be exhibited on our SNS ( Instagram ). Additionally, information on the participating artists is provided at the end of the text, so we hope you will read it.

We look forward to seeing you there.

PROFILE

Alice in Wonderland

Born in Shirokane, Minato Ward, moved to Las Vegas when he was 3 years old.

I have been interested in art since I was a child and have been participating in the Las Vegas Art Club since I was in elementary and junior high school. From high school, he transferred to art school LVA and began studying oil painting and sculpture in earnest.
At university, she studied painting, performance, and digital art at the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). In the spring of 2018, he moved his base to Japan, and after working as a model and talent under Oscar Promotion, he is currently active in various fields after appearing on NHK's Immediate Response English Conversation MC.
Inspired by Tokyo's art scene, he is currently producing character figures with a 3D printer using 3D software. The theme of ``pure self'' is used to express the characters' facial expressions, including emotions felt in everyday life (happy tears, joy, sadness).

<Career>
We will exhibit at Akasaka KAISU in 2021, then participate in the Laforet Harajuku exhibition in April 2022, and the Shibuya Crossing exhibition. Plans to participate in various art exhibitions. Currently working on producing a picture book.

ITOSHI SAKHRANI

painter
Born in Tokyo in 1987
He is a mix of British, Indian, and Okinawan descent, and has a background that grew up in a borderless environment.
As a teenager, he attended an international school in Okinawa and a local school in Tokyo. He is passionate about graffiti art and spends his student life creating posters and flyers for events and designing T-shirts. Currently, in addition to exhibiting and selling paintings, he is also involved in a wide range of activities, including collaborations with various companies.

<Concept>
When I think about what it means to express myself in my own way, the first thing that comes to mind is my family and then the environment in which I grew up.
I believe that individuals are formed by the DNA they inherited from their parents and the influences of the things they have been exposed to from birth to the present, and from this, their daily habits and scenes are born.
I believe that all of these things are a series of irreplaceable things, and when it comes to creating things, I place emphasis on enjoying them freely.
By not being bound by (social value standards) (plans and meaningful things) (emotions of superiority and inferiority, etc.), the things that make me up will take on different colors and shapes and naturally appear on the screen.
There is life, there is flesh and blood.
Production is a dialogue between the artist and the work, and is like a phenomenon in which they mutually change.
When viewing the works, please feel free to feel the works in your own way.

REI INABA|Rei Inaba

He is the only artist in Japan who uses a unique method of pasting kimono threads called "fiber painting."
He also works in oil paintings, monotype prints, and mixed media, and has exhibited many times overseas, including in Amsterdam and Taipei.
He continues to engage in a wide range of activities, both figurative and abstract, such as corporate collaboration murals and live painting for events.
Last year, I wanted to make art more pervasive in the world. Rei Inaba is a textile artist and organizer of the art event "Desert Water", which was founded with this in mind.
This time, based on the concept of "Vulnerability", we will be exhibiting mainly abstract paintings that have not been exhibited much until now.
*Please also take a look at our new surfboards and fiber paintings.
