When he was a student in Taiwan, he began drawing satirical skits out of his rebellious spirit against the culture of pushing children and students to their limits and against the Taiwanese education system.
Tristan Wu is a self-taught artist.
He draws inspiration from his harsh military upbringing, the civil war in China, Taiwan's religious beliefs, his experiences as a sportsman, and his interactions between Europe and Asia.
Through fragmentary episodes of domination and rebellion, he humorously recreates these scenes with a mixture of joy and anger, creating a world of conquerors led by the fictional character Hysterical Mitch, an ally of justice. Ta.
Dressed as an emperor, a military commander, a CEO, or even a rugby player, this perfect anti-hero's hysterical state explores our contemporary struggles, including war, memory, sport, technology, and education. expressing.
Tristan Wu pours overwhelming energy into his work.
True to his double culture, his work powerfully interweaves images of Asian cultural forms and globalized pop culture.
Tristan Wu is surprising us in the current figurative art world with his vibrant, sincere and impressive works.
