[Author introduction] Kenichiro Fukumoto
Introducing Kenichiro Fukumoto , the 3rd artist of HOLBEIN ART FAIR 2022
Kenichiro Fukumoto
Born in Hiroshima Prefecture in 1986.
In 2014, completed the master's program at Tokyo University of the Arts, Graduate School of Fine Arts. Currently based in Tokyo, he creates paintings and sculptures.
Inspired by the shapes and colors of natural history encyclopedias from all over the world, tapestries of various ethnic groups, microorganisms in the soil and sea, and ornamental plants around us, we reflect on the relationship between human creations and nature that have continued since time immemorial. It is being produced.
In recent years, he has been using old paper and washi paper for his paintings, and combining different materials and textures for his sculptures, such as time-worn wood such as driftwood and old wood, and pottery that he kneaded and fired himself.

[Staff comment]
Mr. Fukumoto's works depict plants and creatures of various colors with a gentle touch, giving a gentle atmosphere.✨The colors of the works are overflowing with a unique atmosphere from ethnic textiles, and each work has a unique atmosphere. It has a weight that makes you feel the history! It's so soothing to see so many plants that actually exist or are drawn from your imagination! The three-dimensional works express fairy-like creatures of nature, and are all cute and soothing works✨ (Mogi)
