[Artist introduction] Eri Fukuda
Introducing HOLBEIN ART FAIR 2022 3rd artist Eri Fukuda
Eri Fukuda
What I depict in my paintings is not reality, but the invisible world.
Reality can sometimes be scary. In order to escape from that, I began to create a world that was not real.
The world is not all about what can be seen visually. A person's heart, spirit, or god-like being, steam or air. I believe that trying to see things that cannot be seen and making them visible and felt is a way to understand the world more deeply.
For me, society is sometimes a difficult environment to live in, but I have to get involved in it in order to survive. My works are created from the friction that occurs when I coexist with society.

[Staff comment]
When I look at Fukuda's work, I feel like I'm being enveloped. Various thoughts and delusions spread through my head, such as where I exist in the work and how I got into this world. Please enjoy the delicate expressions spread across the canvas with your own eyes ✨ (Neda)
