This spring, the artist graduated from the Oil Painting Course at Tohoku University of Art & Design. While still a student, they remained active beyond campus, holding solo exhibitions in Seoul, South Korea, and in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture. Their practice involves dismantling, on the canvas, the lines that once served as information linking together fragments extracted from text and images, and then drawing forth faces from the positions and overlaps of these reconstructed lines—much like an intricate simulacrum phenomenon.Allow us to introduce the artist 川獺すあ!
