The virtual venus series is an attempt to give form to how, in our ever more complex modern world, the object of people's faith is shifting into the digital realm—and to the lookism and fantasies projected onto the “digital goddess” people come to worship.
In No. 1, I sought to capture this “digital goddess,” an object of emerging faith, as a tangible presence.

When you come to Tokyo, you encounter people dressed in all manner of styles, and you are reminded anew that each person in the crowd has their own life and their own will. I wanted to explore both the rich variety this brings and the sense of violence within it.

These are works 100nen created especially for this exhibition! Since the venue is Shibuya Scramble Square, there is even a piece featuring Shibuya Station! Rendered in purple and speaking to the theme of diversity, “Shibuya Station” conveys the emotions of the girls portrayed😌
In the works where girls and ceramics seem to blend together, the textures are beautifully depicted,while the yellow set against complementary purple makes for a crisp, eye-catching palette!💟
