9 Posters (repost)｜Event information

A ``repost'' of the exhibition ``9 Posters'' held at TALION GALLERY last spring will be held at +ART GALLERY (margin reception walls) on the 14th floor of Shibuya Scramble Square. (Duration: June 1, 2021 – June 30, 2021 )

``9 Posters'' is the brainchild of Yu Yamamoto, who calls himself an illustrator and is known for his conceptual work. Based on the theme of ``posters for posters,'' from designers to manga artists, painters, photographers, and performance artists, ``9 Posters'' Authors from a variety of genres are participating.

``Once posters are pasted and removed, they are often thrown away. Or they are too troublesome to clean up, and they often end up being left on and rotting away. The posters that continue to exist in this world are supported by happiness that exists separately from them. (Yu Yamamoto)”

This year's ``9 Posters (repost)'' continues the theme of last year's exhibition, focusing on the story and form of posters, their characteristics, and materiality. Some new works will also be added, and a new exhibition will be held in a place where many people come and go. Please take this opportunity to see it.

On the other hand, posters, which play the role of an advertising medium, have the role of effectively conveying information before being an expression, and are destined to be consumed and disappear in the blink of an eye. This exhibition focuses on the story and form of posters, their characteristics and materiality, and just as paintings have asked themselves questions about painting, artists working in various fields are creating posters for posters.
