Plus Art Co., Ltd. (English: plus art co.,ltd., headquartered in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Taku Nitta), which operates a business based on the theme of enjoying contemporary art, will hold the first solo exhibition in Japan of the South Korea- and UK-based artist NOMA, "Contemporaryman_21stCentury's Mona Lisa," at +ART GALLERY from March 18, 2024. In addition, there will be a live painting event on-site by invitation only on March 30.

■『Contemporary Man_ 21st Century's Mona Lisa』
His series titles reference the Mona Lisa , and he depicts us in the modern (21st century) world . When Leonardo da Vinci painted the Mona Lisa, photography did not exist, so he closely observed and meticulously studied the light, shadow, shape, facial expression, and beauty of the natural world. He also balanced realism and artistic expression in pursuit of freedom of artistic expression. Just like da Vinci, NOMA expresses the "inner reality" of us humans in the 21st century in his paintings.
The title of his series is a reference to the “Mona Lisa,” which depicts us in the modern (21st) century. Since photographic technology did not exist at the time Leonardo da Vinci painted the “Mona Lisa,” he made detailed observations and meticulous studies of “light,” “shadow,” “shape,” “facial expression,” and “beauty” in the natural world. He also struck a balance between realism and artistic expression in his pursuit of freedom of artistic expression. like da Vinci, NOMA expresses in his paintings the “inner realism” of us human beings in the 21st century.
