八大竜王の第一番に数えられ、千手観音の眷属の二十八部衆でもある難陀龍王をモチーフに描きました。「難陀」はサンスクリット語で「幸せ・喜び」という意味を持ちます。人は古来より、神や仏を人の形に置き換えて形づくり、信仰してきました。難陀竜王もそのひとりです。その龍王の幼少期をイメージし描きました。既成のキャンバスではなく、麻布生地に膠と調合した下地剤（白亜地）を塗ったものをパネルに張り込んだオリジナルキャンバスを使用しています。キャンバスの側面はあえて下地剤を施さず、麻布生地を出すことによって手作りの温かみを残しています。描画材は油絵具を使用しています。
Additional Information
Instead of using ready-made canvas, I use original canvases made by applying a base coat (chalk ground) made from glue to linen fabric and then stretching the fabric over a panel. The sides of the canvas are not primed, leaving the linen exposed to preserve the warmth of a handmade piece. Oil paints are used for the painting.
