CONCEPT: What is Original Picture?
As an artist of digital native origin, Nakamori Karin explores the differences in value between digital and analog and the possibility of their coexistence .
As IT technology becomes more widespread and digital-based production becomes mainstream,

We are paying attention to questions such as these.
In today's art world, when it comes to two-dimensional artwork, an original artwork would be a canvas work, and a reproduction artwork would be something that has been scanned, printed, and published in limited quantities.
She focuses on the fact that her works have the qualities of original artwork in both analog and digital formats, and defines her production as follows:
1. Digital Drawing (Original Art) : The artwork first created with digital tools. This digital drawing is used in all of the "Naachin" series and is considered the "Original Art."
2. Canvas : Each canvas has a different base (background and decoration) for each work. This makes each canvas unique. The bottom layer inevitably contains lines like guide lines, color divisions, and a screen with a function like a blueprint, which are necessary when transferring a digitally drawn picture to an analog canvas.
3. Composition (writing) : The digital drawing (original painting) is manually painted on the canvas with the background (background and decoration) to complete the final work. This work is defined as a "Naachin reproduction." (Naachin itself means to reproduce.)
The seemingly impossible situation of digital data and canvas works simultaneously possessing the quality of an original work can be seen as a new interpretation of the nature of an original work in this day and age. Furthermore, we believe that the value of a work (art) is not the superficial quality of the canvas work exhibited or the digital work itself, but rather the source of the artist's imagination and expressiveness (i.e. originality).
This solo exhibition will focus on the "Naachin" series, which I first created digitally using a computer or pen tablet, which I have been familiar with since elementary school, and then turned them into canvas works. I will be revealing the production techniques for the "Naachin" series, and I hope that you will experience how the experience value of art differs depending on what the viewer focuses on (concept, cost, value, interior design, etc.).
When selling a canvas work, we will also provide you with the composite data at the time of sale (a combination of the original "Nacchin" and the base (background and decoration) of each work), and the "file creation date" and "file creator name" included in this will serve as certificates and will be managed by the management.
By fusing the different elements and cultural backgrounds of both analog and digital technology, we hope to create new artistic value and have people enjoy art with their own unique aesthetic sense, regardless of medium or technique.
New series: "Naachin_Bright"
The new series "Naachin_Bright" that will be displayed at this solo exhibition, which I started painting at the end of last year, is a series that focuses on light and shadow again. The difference from the previous series is the " layer composition ".
In previous layer compositions, shadows were painted last, but in the Bright series, light is painted last, bringing the light parts to the upper layers and expressing the shadows in the bottom layer, the base.
I think this is also an idea and concept that is unique to someone with a digital background.

Born in Shibuya, Tokyo in 1993.
He was interested in manga and animation from an early age and began drawing on his own. He started his career as a freelance illustrator and quickly became familiar with creating with digital tools. In 2021, he began producing the "Naachin Series" using analog art materials, and in 2022, he will hold his first exhibition of original drawings at Shibuya Parco Calif, becoming a full-fledged artist.

Works for sale will be announced and displayed at the +ART Online Shop or in-store (+ART GALLERY) from 11:00 on June 10th, and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis .
*Digital data of the canvas work will be sent directly to the purchaser by email. Please note that we manage the artist name, work name, file creation date, and creator name here, so if they have been tampered with or changed, they will not be able to be verified.
