plus art co., ltd (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Taku Nitta) will present a collaborative exhibition pairing original artworks by manga artist Tatsuya Egawa with works by 30 artists selected from among the participating creators, as part of "Ero-Kawaii Bishojo Exhibition (working title)" featuring Egawa's original illustrations, opening Monday, February 27, 2023.

■A collaboration with the bishojo (beautiful-girl) illustrations of Tatsuya Egawa, the manga artist who defined the 1980s through the 2000s!
Tatsuya Egawa, whose major works include Tokyo University Story (34 volumes) and GOLDEN BOY (10 volumes), is known for the eroticism of his manga. The girls in his stories are stylish and endearing in appearance. Rendered with a delicate touch, his depiction of emotion—joy, anger, sorrow, and delight—is especially striking. Maternal yet sexually liberated, his "cute girl characters" embody an idealized vision of femininity seen through a male lens.
Together with HoriPro Inc., the agency that represents Tatsuya Egawa, we are holding an exhibition featuring a selection of these "ero-kawaii" bishojo illustrations. As a collaborative project, we have selected 30 contemporary creators (artists) to reinterpret Egawa's original works.
The 30 selected artists will exhibit at "+ART GALLERY" on the 14th floor of Shibuya Scramble Square, the exhibition venue.

(2) Submit your collaboration idea to the secretariat / [Deadline] January 12, 2023
After entering, applicants will be sent the original-artwork data. Please choose one image you like and submit your idea for collaborating it with your own work.
*Works are expected to be around size 10 (F10); three-dimensional works up to roughly 30–40 cm at their longest; digital-output works around A3. (Full details will be sent separately.)
(3) Announcement of results – production / [Scheduled] January 19, 2023
Tatsuya Egawa and the organizing secretariat will review the entries and notify you of the results.
Those selected will install their work on February 26, 2023 (please rest assured that we will accommodate those who find it difficult to attend in person, such as participants from distant areas).
