Work Concept: Concept

When I think about what expression is unique to me, the first thing that comes to mind is my family, followed by the environment in which I grew up. Individuals are formed by the DNA inherited from their parents and the influence of things they have been exposed to from birth to the present. I believe that all of these are a series of irreplaceable things, and in my work, I emphasize the importance of having fun freely. By not being bound by (social values), (plans and meanings), (feelings of superiority or inferiority), the things that form me become other colors and shapes, which naturally appear on the screen. There is life, there is flesh and blood. Creation is a dialogue between the artist and the work, like a mutually changing phenomenon. When you view the work, please feel free to experience it in your own way.

[Staff Comment]

From their power and momentum I sense the budding of life and a beauty like that of mineral ore. The use of color and every single brushstroke is so distinctive that I can't stop imagining what each work might represent! (Kawahara)

[Exhibition Information]

"Vulnerability"

The concept of this exhibition, "Vulnerability," carries the message of "showing your honest self."

Revealing the parts of ourselves we would rather keep hidden, or exposing our own weakness, can sometimes leave us hurt — yet it can just as often bring positive results. Though the word carries a negative nuance, expressing the actions and feelings that are hard to show others is itself a strength, and the self-disclosure of showing our honest self can become the spark that makes life something wonderful.
Resonating with that idea, three artists who express themselves even amid their own struggles come together for the three-person exhibition "Vulnerability."
Works by Fushiginokuni no Arisa, ITOSHI SAKHRANI, and REI INABA will also be exhibited and offered for sale.
In addition, on November 19 (Sat) and 26 (Sat) during the run, we are planning a reception party and talk session for a select group, with the artists also scheduled to be in attendance. (Details will be sent to +ART GALLERY online shop members and to the artists' connections.)
Introductions and interview videos of the participating artists will be shared via our social media (Instagram). Information on the participating artists is also given in the latter part of this text, so we hope you will read on.
We look forward to welcoming you all.
