Introducing contemporary artist Asahi Sugai .

1. Profile introduction
Artist name: Asahi Sugai
The appearance of my work changes over time.
Over time, the silver foil rusts, the oil turns yellow, and the cyanotype fades, causing the original silver-colored screen to gradually discolor.
Therefore, it is impossible to predict exactly what a work will look like months, years, or even decades from now.
Traditionally, paintings have been expected to remain unchanged.
Even if the actual motif decays and disappears before our eyes, the image drawn by the artist remains the same in the painting and remains as a substitute for memories and records.
However, the images of my works are constantly changing, and you will never see the same image again. When you come face-to-face with these works, what emerges is not time that has been stopped and contained within the painting, but rather the past that is yet to come, the future that has passed, or the vague and ungraspable "present moment." I think so.
